Life Update | New Hair

Hi all! I haven't posted in a really LONG time and I'm back! I promise more posts will be coming soon because school is over and I'm on summer break! WOOOT! So, here's and update for y'all out there. I'm editing a vlog of my recent trip to Europe, so get ready for tons of panoramic views of scenery and architecture. I still haven't decided if I wanted to edit them as vlogs by day or by city I visited. You guys may have noticed I don't show my face or talk in my vlogs and that's because I don't know what I'm shooting if I turn the camera around. Maybe it's just something I need to practice, but I don't talk in the vlogs because I'll either be eating or having weird and awkward conversations with people. I also have some more diys coming soon either on the blog or on youtube because there was some great feedback on my DIY PVC Clothing Rack video. Anyways, here are some photos of my new hair featuring my much loved kimono from PacSun.

Outfit: Pants from Forever21, Crop Top from PacSun, Boots from PacSun, Kimono from PacSun
(I really like PacSun...haha)

Hair dyed and photos taken by: Mane Untame

I call this: Clip on Bangs Gone Wrong...

Let me just hold my bun real quick.

Smelling flowers?

This is how I walk...not really.

Inspiration | Floating Shelf

I have recently been obsessed with rearranging my room because I just felt like having a change in scenery. I got rid of my large bulky shelf and desk (aka, gave it to my brother) and downsized to a smaller desk. Due to the lack of shelving I wanted to have a spot in my room to display little knick knacks here and there, and rediscovered the hanging shelf I've always wanted to get. Because I rearrange my room almost every month XD , I am always afraid to commit to hammering things to the wall when I'm probably going to move it later. This means I'll have to patch the wall, paint it, and put a hole in a different part of the wall to hang something up again. Yes, I am VERY lazy. But, this time I might actually be satisfied with the layout of my room so we will see how this hammering situation will turn out. Here is just some inspiration I am looking at during my mini room renovation!

Galentines Day Weekend

Hey guys! Over President's Day weekend, a few of my girl friends and I decided to go to Disneyland because...why not go to the happiest place on Earth when your single... Haha, other than that, we had a four day weekend, so it was the perfect time to take a trip together. It was the first time we drove for 6 hours, with breaks in between of course, which was what I thought was a far and long distance. We also stopped by Santa Monica on the way there, but I didn't vlog anything because I left the camera in the car and was too tired and lazy to go back and get it. Hope you guys enjoy this vlog!

DIY: PVC Clothing Rack

Hey guys! We bring to you a fun and very useful DIY project. It took us a while to figure out how to build this with the right measurements, and now that it's done, we are super excited to show you guys how to create this clothing rack. If you try this DIY hashtag #baconsquaredstyle on the social medias below; we would love to see your recreation of this project. Hope you all like it! :)
-Steph and Cher

Materials:
1 inch PVC Pipe:
- 1    4 ft
- 2    2 ft
- 4    8 in
- 2    .5 ft
- 2    1 ft
- 8    1 inch Tee
- 4    1 inch 90° Elbow
- 4    1 x 3/4 inch 90° elbow
- 8    1 inch Tee
- 4    Bushing
- spray paint color of your choice
- Hammer
- old rag or towel
- Some sort of saw to cut the pipes

The 4 extra hooks on the sides are optional. I mainly wanted them so I can hold purses and totes. You can always substitute the multiple pipe cuttings into two 4 ft. pipes on the sides, for this may be easier if you don't want to do too much cutting. Also, the height measurement can be changed to your own liking, but I advise you to leave the width the same unless you want it shorter. This is because the pipe might dip a little if you have too much stuff hanging on it. I hope to do a future DIY of a clothing rack using metal pipe because it's sturdier.

Lightning Bolt

Wearing: sunglasses from Francesca's, tee from Forever 21, jeans from American Eagle, belt from Goodwill, bag from Marc by Marc Jacobs, shoes from Hollister

Hey guys! It's still cold in the Bay Area...or what we call cold at 60°F, but I'm a little lazy when it comes to putting on a jacket and layering. Although we are in a drought right now, I'm glad it stopped raining because again, I am lazy and don't like carrying an umbrella to school. Anyways, I bought this lightning bolt shirt awhile back and it got buried deep in my closet, so when I found it again I was very excited to wear it and put together an outfit for you guys. I am especially loving my orange aviators which were only $14! It's awesome how the color of the lenses change a little when you look at it at different angles. This is an outfit I would wear to go shopping or on a casual lunch with friends.
Comment below on what your favorite pair of sunglasses are at the moment. :)

Desert Stars

Wearing: cardigan from Pacsun, tee from Brandy Melville, leggings and jewelry from Forever 21, shoes from Sperry Topsider

Hey guys! This has been one of my favorite cardigans ever since I got it! It's very warm and great to wear for the brisk weather we have been having in the Bay Area. I extremely love the howling wolf on the back and the rest of the awesome scenery. If you have been noticing the pattern, this is yet another casual outfit I go to when in a rush.

Sunshine Blues

Wearing: cardigan and jeans from American Eagle, boots and denim shirt from Nordstrom,

Hey lovely people! This outfit was from that one warm week that we had on the west coast not too long ago. It has gotten gloomy and cold and wet since then which is good for the drought that we are currently having but not so great for all the outfits that we had planned to shoot but now can't because the weather has decided to pour on us. Oh well, good thing we had these saved up. Maybe we'll try some indoor shooting soon. Also only a few days left until Valentines day! Have you seen our Valentines day outfits video yet? Scroll down or click here if you haven't and let us know what you think!

Music Monday

Hello lovelies! We have a little something different happening this month and we figured we'd start of with a new concept (new for us anyway). Music Monday is a way for us to share the tunes we've been obsessing over in the month so let us know if you give these picks a listen and tell us how you like it!

Cher's picks

Over the last few months I have been hating the radio. The stations are just constantly playing the same songs over and over again, and they don't even sound that great, or sometimes don't even make sense. I've never really listened to Lana Del Rey due to the fact that the radio played Summertime Sadness all the time, but when I heard Young and Beautiful while watching The Great Gatsby, I instantly fell in love with her voice! I decided to listened to her album on Spotify and loved it. This is my favorite album of the month, and one I listen to when I'm just chilling around.

Steph's picks

I, on the other hand, have been stuck in a musical rut so the album I'm featuring is quite well known. The radio is alright but after a while all of the songs are just overkill. One of those songs is on the album that I am featuring today *cough* Royals *cough* and I'm sure that soon Tennis Court will also be another one of those songs that I can't listen to without wanting to smack the radio. But after checking out some of the other songs on the album I am completely smitten. Lorde just oozes with this kind of cool nonchalance that is translated so well through her music. Listening to her makes me want to just chill out, and being a suburbia girl, I can relate to a lot of what she's talking about when she sings about her home town. My current favorite is Buzzcut Season, though I'm pretty sure once that starts playing on the radio I'll get real sick of it real fast.

Let us know what your favorite songs are down below. We'd love to hear what you've been listening to, especially Steph because she REALLY needs some new music to listen to.

Hobo Chic

Wearing: aviators from Big Buddha, scarf from Gap, cardigan from TJ Maxx, t-shirt from Old Navy, leggings from Forever 21, boots from Steve Madden

Hi all! It's starting to get a little chilly up in NorCal, so I can't help but want to stay in bed all day. This cardigan is by far one of the best purchases I ever made! I always feel like I'm walking around with a blanket on because it's super soft and warm. Over-all, I just love the over-sized cardigan...which looks hoboish, but I guess it still works? Anyways, I was just aiming for an outfit that's comfy yet put together, and I think I have achieved it!

Dressed Up Casual

Wearing: leather jacket from Pacsun, dress shirt from Forever 21, leggings from Champion, boots from Hong Kong night market

This is one of my favorite outfits because it looks put together but really it's just a small step up from leggings and a tee. This shirt is one of my favorites to throw on during those lazy days because it's loose and flowy like any regular t-shirt but it makes it appear like you made some effort that day. Throw on a leather jacket and some comfy flats and you're good to go and no one will ever know that it took you five seconds to thrown on this outfit (or that you could sleep in it if you really wanted to).  Comfort is probably the number one reason why I choose the articles of clothing that I do. If I find something that is comfortable but doesn't make me look like a slob I am all in. And every piece that I'm sporting here does just that.

What's your go to lazy day oufit? Let us know in the comments!

Current Covets | January 2014

Hello lovelies! Today we have a little something new for you in which we pretty much just share the things that we have been ogling all month. A lot of the time, being on a shoestring budget leaves us feeling a little discouraged in the shopping department, but it does leave a lot up to the imagination which is just a really fancy way of saying "hey, at least a girl can dream". And dream big we did.

Cher's current covet:

I have been searching for the perfect cross body bag for a while now, and I have finally came across two I love. When I spotted these two bags, the main thing that attracted me was the chain strap with a flat leather part at the top for it will sit well on your shoulder, which many purses don't have. I tried them on, and LOVED it. The pop of yellow on the Mini 5-Zip isn't overbearing with the break of brown on the sides and back, while the Mini M.A.C. has a good amount of gold detailing with the clasp in front. These purses have an adjustable strap which can be shortened or removed, and this was a plus in my book! The price on these aren't too bad compared to other brands and styles, but they definitely aren't affordable on a college girls budget.

Steph's current covet:

Naked Shoe by Andreia Chaves can be found on: Solestruck

This Andreia Chaves Naked Shoe is probably one of the most eye catching and geometric forms a shoe could have, but something about the shape makes me drool. Maybe it's the way the triangles mimic diamond cuts, or maybe the nerd in me just loves the fact that each shoe is printed using a 3D printer and made to order in the perfect size. Either way, be still my beating heart! Unfortunately at upwards of two thousand dollars, this piece of art is wayyyyyy out of our budget, but a girl can always look.

What's your current covet? Leave us a link in the comments below!

I was in a snow globe once...

Santana Row is one of those places I love to go to whether it's with family or friends. I always think of this place as something similar to the Las Vegas strip, but a way smaller version; each street lined with stores and restaurants, with beautiful apartments on top. We spent the day just walking and shopping around while gossiping on the side about the latest news or rumors. After doing some damage to our wallets, we went to grab a bite to eat, but most places had a very long wait. In the end, we found a great restaurant, Left Back Brasserie, which had delicious food. Definitely going back to Santana Row not just for the shopping, but for the food.

Go-to

Wearing: parka from Old Navy, white tank from Brandy Melville, flannel shirt from Abercrombie, leggings & boots from Forever21

This is one of  my go-to outfits when I'm running late to school. On a good day I'll wear the boots, but on other days I might just wear sandals. The parka is SUPER warm, which is great for when the school decides to crank up the air-conditioning when it's already cold in the classrooms. =P What are your go-to cold weather items? Let us know in the comments!

Behind the Blog: Holiday Shoot

Hello lovely internet people! Here is a short behind the scenes vlog of our holiday photoshoot. We had so much fun shooting and filming for you and we couldn't wait for you to see our vlog. The two of us are still experimenting with the best way to shoot both videos and photos but we thought that we'd document our process for you guys to see. Let us know if you enjoyed this video down in the comments and leave us suggestions for any videos/posts you'd like to see from us. We love your feedback!

And a special thanks to our friend K for helping us film.

Spaced Out

Wearing: spaced out sweater from Forever 21, dress shirt from TJMaxx, easy jeans from American Apparel, cutout boots from GoJane.com

Hello lovely internet people. West coast winter has been treating us quite well and today was absolutely gorgeous; almost hot enough to wear shorts though of course I didn't bring any to uni. It's only been the second week of school and already I am so deep in work but hopefully this blog won't suffer too much in the grand scheme of things. I have so many exciting university projects going on but I definitely don't want this blog to fall to the wayside as deadlines get closer and closer. This is a post for holding myself accountable I guess.

Anyway with this post I'm bringing it back to a colder night when we shot this outfits. Throw a big coat over this and it'll be perfect for an even colder night, though this outfit is perfect for the warm winter nights that we experience here. This sweater is so awesome and there are silver and gold star studs on the shoulders which matches perfectly with my gold polka dotted shirt that I'm wearing underneath. I love when small details match and there are gold accents on my shirt my sweater and on the buckles of my shoes, which matches well on the black.

What's your favorite thing about outfits? Let us know in the comments below!

Tree climbing and eating

Bacon

Wearing: parka from H&M, bacon shirt from The Stupid Factory, shorts & tights from Forever 21, boots from Pacsun

We are baconsquared, and it would be completely unacceptable if the owners of baconsquared didn't have novelty shirts to go along with the theme of their blog title. My closet is overflowing with an abundance of graphic tees. I went through a phase and never had the heart to toss out anything, and every once in a while, I dig through and find a gem, And when I find a gem I thank my younger self for being so fashion forward and ahead of her time. I would wear this shirt everyday if I could, because it is, after all, my bacon eating shirt, and I do eat bacon quite often... though never often enough for my liking.

Party

Wearing: dress from Anthropologie, shoes from DSW

We're a little late to the holiday party fashion bus but we figured today was as good a day as any to reminisce about the lovely time we had with the festivities, family, and good cheer. Even writing this post reminds us of the warm feelings of these past months.

Wearing: chaton shift dress from Anthropologie, black heels from Nine West

I am particularly fond of this dress because the print is this amazing optical illusion. From far away the print looks like skulls but look closer and you'll find they're just cute spotted cats. It matches my personality quite well if I do say so myself; at first glance I may look a little menacing (due to my chronic RBF) but really I'm just a nonthreatening moody ball of fur that basks near the warmth of a laptop and only wants your attention when you're ignoring me. Anyway, we hope you've all had a wonderful holiday season and continue working on those new years resolutions. Lord knows we have much to work on ourselves (which means lots more posts to come!).
