Hobo Chic

Wearing: aviators from Big Buddha, scarf from Gap, cardigan from TJ Maxx, t-shirt from Old Navy, leggings from Forever 21, boots from Steve Madden

Hi all! It's starting to get a little chilly up in NorCal, so I can't help but want to stay in bed all day. This cardigan is by far one of the best purchases I ever made! I always feel like I'm walking around with a blanket on because it's super soft and warm. Over-all, I just love the over-sized cardigan...which looks hoboish, but I guess it still works? Anyways, I was just aiming for an outfit that's comfy yet put together, and I think I have achieved it!

Dressed Up Casual

Wearing: leather jacket from Pacsun, dress shirt from Forever 21, leggings from Champion, boots from Hong Kong night market

This is one of my favorite outfits because it looks put together but really it's just a small step up from leggings and a tee. This shirt is one of my favorites to throw on during those lazy days because it's loose and flowy like any regular t-shirt but it makes it appear like you made some effort that day. Throw on a leather jacket and some comfy flats and you're good to go and no one will ever know that it took you five seconds to thrown on this outfit (or that you could sleep in it if you really wanted to).  Comfort is probably the number one reason why I choose the articles of clothing that I do. If I find something that is comfortable but doesn't make me look like a slob I am all in. And every piece that I'm sporting here does just that.

What's your go to lazy day oufit? Let us know in the comments!

Current Covets | January 2014

Hello lovelies! Today we have a little something new for you in which we pretty much just share the things that we have been ogling all month. A lot of the time, being on a shoestring budget leaves us feeling a little discouraged in the shopping department, but it does leave a lot up to the imagination which is just a really fancy way of saying "hey, at least a girl can dream". And dream big we did.

Cher's current covet:

I have been searching for the perfect cross body bag for a while now, and I have finally came across two I love. When I spotted these two bags, the main thing that attracted me was the chain strap with a flat leather part at the top for it will sit well on your shoulder, which many purses don't have. I tried them on, and LOVED it. The pop of yellow on the Mini 5-Zip isn't overbearing with the break of brown on the sides and back, while the Mini M.A.C. has a good amount of gold detailing with the clasp in front. These purses have an adjustable strap which can be shortened or removed, and this was a plus in my book! The price on these aren't too bad compared to other brands and styles, but they definitely aren't affordable on a college girls budget.

Steph's current covet:

Naked Shoe by Andreia Chaves can be found on: Solestruck

This Andreia Chaves Naked Shoe is probably one of the most eye catching and geometric forms a shoe could have, but something about the shape makes me drool. Maybe it's the way the triangles mimic diamond cuts, or maybe the nerd in me just loves the fact that each shoe is printed using a 3D printer and made to order in the perfect size. Either way, be still my beating heart! Unfortunately at upwards of two thousand dollars, this piece of art is wayyyyyy out of our budget, but a girl can always look.

I was in a snow globe once...

Santana Row is one of those places I love to go to whether it's with family or friends. I always think of this place as something similar to the Las Vegas strip, but a way smaller version; each street lined with stores and restaurants, with beautiful apartments on top. We spent the day just walking and shopping around while gossiping on the side about the latest news or rumors. After doing some damage to our wallets, we went to grab a bite to eat, but most places had a very long wait. In the end, we found a great restaurant, Left Back Brasserie, which had delicious food. Definitely going back to Santana Row not just for the shopping, but for the food.

Go-to

Wearing: parka from Old Navy, white tank from Brandy Melville, flannel shirt from Abercrombie, leggings & boots from Forever21

This is one of  my go-to outfits when I'm running late to school. On a good day I'll wear the boots, but on other days I might just wear sandals. The parka is SUPER warm, which is great for when the school decides to crank up the air-conditioning when it's already cold in the classrooms. =P What are your go-to cold weather items? Spaced Out

Wearing: spaced out sweater from Forever 21, dress shirt from TJMaxx, easy jeans from American Apparel, cutout boots from GoJane.com

Hello lovely internet people. West coast winter has been treating us quite well and today was absolutely gorgeous; almost hot enough to wear shorts though of course I didn't bring any to uni. It's only been the second week of school and already I am so deep in work but hopefully this blog won't suffer too much in the grand scheme of things. I have so many exciting university projects going on but I definitely don't want this blog to fall to the wayside as deadlines get closer and closer. This is a post for holding myself accountable I guess.

Anyway with this post I'm bringing it back to a colder night when we shot this outfits. Throw a big coat over this and it'll be perfect for an even colder night, though this outfit is perfect for the warm winter nights that we experience here. This sweater is so awesome and there are silver and gold star studs on the shoulders which matches perfectly with my gold polka dotted shirt that I'm wearing underneath. I love when small details match and there are gold accents on my shirt my sweater and on the buckles of my shoes, which matches well on the black.

What's your favorite thing about outfits? Let us know in the comments below!

Bacon

Wearing: parka from H&M, bacon shirt from The Stupid Factory, shorts & tights from Forever 21, boots from Pacsun

We are baconsquared, and it would be completely unacceptable if the owners of baconsquared didn't have novelty shirts to go along with the theme of their blog title. My closet is overflowing with an abundance of graphic tees. I went through a phase and never had the heart to toss out anything, and every once in a while, I dig through and find a gem, And when I find a gem I thank my younger self for being so fashion forward and ahead of her time. I would wear this shirt everyday if I could, because it is, after all, my bacon eating shirt, and I do eat bacon quite often... though never often enough for my liking.

Party

Wearing: dress from Anthropologie, shoes from DSW

We're a little late to the holiday party fashion bus but we figured today was as good a day as any to reminisce about the lovely time we had with the festivities, family, and good cheer. Even writing this post reminds us of the warm feelings of these past months.

Wearing: chaton shift dress from Anthropologie, black heels from Nine West

I am particularly fond of this dress because the print is this amazing optical illusion. From far away the print looks like skulls but look closer and you'll find they're just cute spotted cats. It matches my personality quite well if I do say so myself; at first glance I may look a little menacing (due to my chronic RBF) but really I'm just a nonthreatening moody ball of fur that basks near the warmth of a laptop and only wants your attention when you're ignoring me. Anyway, we hope you've all had a wonderful holiday season and continue working on those new years resolutions. Lord knows we have much to work on ourselves (which means lots more posts to come!).

Wearing: beanie from H&M, thrifted scarf, party jumper & floral skirt from Forever21, cutout boots from Pacsun

Happy New Year! Hoping everyone had a lovely coming of the new year. Contrary to the statement on my sweater I spent most of the night wishing I was asleep as I've been so deprived lately, but the crowd excitement never fails to make me hopeful and happy and filled with joy that a new beginning is upon us. I love the feeling of being on the cusp of something fresh and exciting and counting down to the new year is the epitome of that feeling.  So here's to that promise of bigger and better things, to adventures and memories waiting to be happened upon. Ready or not, 2014 here we come.
